The water bottle is an essential accessory for cyclists , we often get this question:
How do you clean a cycling bottle ?
We have therefore decided to use our knowledge and experiences on the subject to write an article that gives a comprehensive answer to this question.
For effective cleaning , immerse the open bottle in a basin with 1 liter of water, to which you will then add 20 ml of amuchina, measurable with the special measuring cap. The waiting time to obtain an optimal result is 15 minutes, at the end of which the bottle must be rinsed with plenty of tap water.
If, on the other hand, you want to remove the bad smell from the bottle you just bought, you can use this procedure.
You will need water to heat and a teaspoon of baking soda.
Step 1
Take a small tea pot and fill it halfway with water then put it on the stove and wait for it to start simmering.
Once the water has reached a boil , you can turn off the heat and wait a few seconds before pouring a teaspoon of baking soda into it.
Step 2
Then wait for the water together with the bicarbonate to become warm, mix and take the bottle , fill it halfway with the water and bicarbonate prepared and close it with the cap, now shake the bottle, so that the water reaches the entire internal surface .
Shake the bottle for about 1 minute.
Rinse the inside of the bottle with abundant running water to remove all residues.
If you still feel unpleasant smells, you can repeat the operation a second time but we can assure you that in most cases, only once will be enough to eliminate the smell.
We also recommend that you clean the bottle after each use and replace it after a certain period of time to always have a clean and hygienic bottle for your outings.
